THE Sleep Medicine is made up of doctors who are trained in various medical specialties such as for example Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine and Pneumology who, in addition to their basic training, also undertook training in Sleep Medicine.
Purpose of the Sleep Medicine Council
The Council works to encourage and develop scientific activities that can expand knowledge about the various sleep disorders to the medical profession and other specialties working in Sleep Medicine.
The Medical Council also acts in the standardization and updating of diagnostic methods in Sleep Medicine.
The council also works in conjunction with other councils to spread knowledge and guidance to the population about sleeping sickness and ways to improve sleep quality.
The Sleep Medicine Professional
Such specialists work in the diagnosis and clinical treatment with outpatient care for sleeping or surgical diseases when indicated as otorhinolaryngology.
In addition to clinical care, the specialist also works in the diagnosis of sleeping disorders through specific tests such as polysomnography .
Since Sono started to be recognized as an area of activity by AMB, we no longer carry out certification. The title of area of expertise in sleep is the society of medical specialty (Pulmonology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Neurology, Clinical Medicine) together with the AMB .
