THE Experimental Sleep Research (PES) , from the use of laboratory animals (in vivo and in vitro), allows to improve the knowledge of the physiology and pathophysiology of several diseases.

In addition FOOT for years it has contributed to the knowledge of the biological basis of the need to sleep, in the same way, the causes, consequences and mechanisms associated with lack of sleep.

Purpose of the Experimental Sleep Research Council

O Experimental Sleep Research Council aims to carry out a national survey on the number of institutions, groups, researchers working in the Experimental Sleep Research.

From this survey, stimulate the approach of these researchers in scientific activities, preparation of courses and the discussion of partnerships in research projects.

In the field of Experimental Sleep Research, researchers from different academic backgrounds seek to understand the basic phenomena related to Sleep (Sleep Biology) and its applications in the clinical area, helping in diagnosis and treatment.

The professional who works in the field of Experimental Research, in general, starts his research activities during the undergraduate (Scientific Initiation) and the post-graduate (master’s, doctorate and post-doctorate) of the various academic backgrounds (biological, exact and human) ).

After these steps in the training of the researcher, the professional can work in Higher Education and Research Institutions, in addition, in business sectors.
